From Earth to Sky: Our Digital Atlas
In this workshop at Arter for children aged 7–11, participants combine physical movement and everyday objects with the MONNOM digital play ecosystem to design a collective digital atlas stretching from earth to sky.
About the Workshop
In the From Earth to Sky: Our Digital Atlas workshop, children aged 7–11 explore the exhibition at Arter and reimagine the layers of nature, earthly textures, and skyward forms through their own perspective.
Interacting with MONNOM—which bridges physical objects and bodily movement with the digital environment—participants create individual and collective patterns, bringing them together into a living digital atlas.
What Will We Do?
- Exhibition & Nature Exploration: Together we observe natural forms, textures, and color layers stretching from the earth to the sky.
- From Physical Objects to Digital Patterns: Using everyday colorful objects and hand/body movements via camera, we generate original drawings and visual patterns in MONNOM.
- Collective Digital Atlas: We combine the visual layers created by each participant to complete our workshop's shared digital atlas.
Led by the Studio MONNOM team for children aged 7–11, this workshop invites participants to explore Tayfun Erdoğmuş’s solo exhibition, Atlas 1/137,035999. After examining works such as Ghost Herbarium (2000–2026) and Untitled (Natura) (2004–2024)—which shed light on the artist’s practice of collecting, classifying, transforming, and layering plants—children will create their own visual collections using dried flora and digitize them through the MONNOM app. Following experiments with scale, repetition, and layering on these digitized patterns, participants will conclude the workshop by designing an original collective atlas.
The workshop will be held in Turkish.
