Do the rising global digital restrictions in 2025 protect children, or curtail their freedoms? A critical perspective on the new era of children's digital rights.

M&M is a digitally-enhanced narrative environment born from Monnom and Mobeybou. By integrating sensors and physical objects, it empowers children to create open-ended stories through bodily movement and voice. This hybrid platform bridges physical play with digital visualizations, fostering intercultural connection through immersive, collaborative storytelling.

"My Shadow in the Garden" is a digitally-enhanced environment where children explore a digital landscape through their silhouettes and voices. Aligning with UNCRC digital rights, this project moves beyond "hand-eye" interaction to incorporate full-body movement. By bridging physical and digital spaces, it offers a technology-based art experience that empowers children to express themselves safely and creatively in the digital age.

Explore how digital environments facilitate children's play patterns and physical experiences. Our Monnom research examines interaction paths in blended play spaces.

Bridging physical and digital worlds at the Children and Youth Art Biennial, this workshop invites children (ages 4–8) to create a "Magic Garden" through movement and imagination. By transforming their illustrations into interactive digital landscapes, participants explore creative storytelling through spatial interaction. A unique blend of nature-inspired art and technology-based play.

Bridging nature and technology, this workshop invites children to explore David Hockney’s "The Coming of Spring" through the Monnom software. By observing museum gardens and using bodily movements, children transform physical nature into interactive digital landscapes. This technology-based art experience enhances fine and gross motor skills while allowing kids to fictionalize their own spatial narratives.

In 2021, the UN adopted General Comment No. 25, officially extending children’s rights to the digital environment. Guided by the 5Rights Foundation and the voices of youth, this milestone emphasizes that states must protect children online while ensuring digital access and parental support. As countries like Germany lead with legislative reforms, it is vital to foster a digital world designed by and for children.

Children explore Istanbul Modern’s collection to create digital compositions using the Monnom software. By linking physical objects and bodily movements with virtual images, this workshop offers a technology-based art experience. It bridges the gap between physical space and digital canvases through interactive, research-driven design.

Transform any space into a digital canvas with Monnom. Our webcam-driven platform recognizes physical objects, empowering children to create unique interactive narrations through body-object movement.
