Hockney's Digital Garden Workshop / Sakip Sabanci Museum
Bridging nature and technology, this workshop invites children to explore David Hockney’s "The Coming of Spring" through the Monnom software. By observing museum gardens and using bodily movements, children transform physical nature into interactive digital landscapes. This technology-based art experience enhances fine and gross motor skills while allowing kids to fictionalize their own spatial narratives.

Location: Sakip Sabanci Museum
Date: July 23, 2022
Participants: 6-8 Year-olds
The workshop start with a short tour in the museum garden, children observe trees, flowers, leaves, the sky, and discover different colors and elements in nature. After defining the colors and elements that children determine inspired by this trip and David Hockney's color palette to Monnom software, they create digital gardens by bringing these colors and elements to the digital environment through bodily movements in the space. Within the scope of David Hockney: The Coming of Spring, Normandy, 2020 exhibition, the workshop offers a visual/spatial interactive narrative environment that allows children to create a link between the physical and digital environment. During the workshop, children experience the original visuals and playgrounds they imagine by using their fine and gross motor skills in a technology-based art environment.
