MONNOM Web/App Development Update: September

Introducing the in-app Pattern Design Module, the new MONNOM Chrome Extension, immersive 3D AR spatial mode, cross-platform Single Sign-On, and emerging partnerships with schools and museums.

MONNOM Web/App Development Update: September

MONNOM continues to evolve from an intuitive touchless canvas into an expansive, cross-platform creative ecosystem. Bridging web browsers (playmonnom.com) with the native iOS app and desktop workflows, our September update introduces the in-app Pattern Design Module, brings pattern creation into desktop sidebars via the Chrome Extension, launches full 3D spatial AR mode, and unifies authentication and cloud sync across platforms.

## In-App Pattern Design Module: Crafting from Scratch

While players could previously capture motifs from their physical surroundings through camera segmentation, the new Pattern Design Module empowers creators to sketch and build their own custom patterns directly within the app:

- Dual-Layer Hierarchy (Foreground & Background): Artists can organize fine line details and background colors independently, keeping the creative workflow structured and clean.

- Pure Vector Architecture: Built on high-performance vector rendering, the module eliminates memory-heavy bitmaps, offering zero lag, 120Hz fluid zoom/pan, and consistent responsiveness from iPhone to iPad Pro.

- Handcrafted Aesthetic: Custom shapes and freehand ink strokes instantly transform into responsive brush stamps, ready to be painted in real-time or scattered across the canvas.

## MONNOM Pattern Design: Chrome Extension

Creative inspiration strikes across the web. To bridge daily browsing with digital play, we built the official MONNOM Pattern Design Chrome Extension using Manifest V3 and Chrome's Side Panel API:

- Browser Side Panel Workflow: Users can design patterns, sketch motifs, or remove photo backgrounds directly in a convenient desktop side panel alongside any open tab.

- Live Bi-Directional Bridge with Web Play: Clicking any saved pattern in the side panel instantly launches the web canvas with that exact pattern loaded, keeping creative exploration fast and frictionless.

- Cross-Platform Storage Sync: Patterns created within the extension automatically sync with your unified Monnom account, ready for use on both web and iOS apps.

## Stepping Beyond the Flat Canvas: 3D AR Spatial Mode

Until now, Monnom's augmented reality experience placed gesture-driven strokes onto a 2D camera feed. With our new 3D AR Mode, the canvas enters the physical room:

- Spatial Brush Strokes: Drawings are no longer confined to the screen. Using Apple's ARKit and RealityKit spatial anchoring, players can walk around, step inside, and view their colorful creations floating as three-dimensional volumetric structures in mid-air.

- Optimized Entity Architecture: An intelligent spatial memory system safely manages hundreds of simultaneous 3D anchor entities, delivering smooth 60 FPS tracking and seamless scene stability without frame drops or overheating.

## Unified Single Sign-On & Seamless Cloud Sync (Web & App)

Creative continuity should never depend on which device you pick up. We have unified the authentication and cloud architecture across the web platform and the native iOS app:

- Single Sign-On (SSO): Players can sign in using Apple, Google, or secure email authentication across browser, extension, and app environments.

- Instant Pattern & Background Sync: A custom background selected or pattern designed on the web instantly appears in the iOS app lobby, and vice versa. Every saved artwork, color key, and personalized asset follows the user account automatically through Firestore and Firebase Cloud Storage.

## Empowering Learning: Partnering with Schools and Museums

Art and creative technology belong at the intersection of cultural heritage and early education. We are currently actively meeting and collaborating with forward-thinking schools, learning centers, and museums to integrate Monnom directly into interactive educational programs and exhibition workshops. By tailoring digital drawing tools, curated thematic backgrounds, and interactive storytelling modules to specific pedagogical goals, our aim is to support educators and curators in nurturing children's digital literacy, tactile imagination, and self-expression in inspiring, ad-free creative spaces.
