Digital Stories Workshop / Istanbul Museum of Modern Art

Children explore Istanbul Modern’s collection to create digital compositions using the Monnom software. By linking physical objects and bodily movements with virtual images, this workshop offers a technology-based art experience. It bridges the gap between physical space and digital canvases through interactive, research-driven design.

Digital Stories Workshop / Istanbul Museum of Modern Art

Location: Istanbul Modern Museum, Art Maker Lab Date:

September 21, 2019

Participants: 7-8 Year-olds and 9-12 Year-olds

"In this workshop, the children create digital pictures by experimenting with Monnom, a software the designer developed as part of her research which aims to link the physical and virtual environments. The program begins with a tour of Istanbul Modern’s collection exhibition “In Pursuit of the Present” during which the children identify the images in the artworks that impress them most. During the workshop, they match up these images with objects of different colors and shapes and import them into the Monnom software. They then create compositions using these objects and their corresponding images on the screen. The workshop offers children a technology-based art experience through the interaction with objects, images, the body, and space."
